The Storkhouse

The Storkhouse is an experimental guesthouse in the village of Raiding, Austria, the birthplace of composer Franz Liszt. During the Liszt Festival season, the Storkhouse is home to visiting classical musicians, but during the warmer months the bird’s nest sitting high above the house houses mating pairs of European white storks coming home to build their families. The model by the entrance of Nadoya is an interpretation of the actual Storkhouse, and was cut from a single block of zelkova wood from a tree at Nadoya Ebisu.
